New Favorite Cupcakes

I have found my new favorite cupcakes. The great thing about them are 1. they are super easy and 2. they are also somewhat healthy! I was given a Betty Crocker dessert book from Target from a girl from church and I immediately found a cute recipe that I couldn't wait to try. They are Adorable Applesauce Cupcakes!! My class theme this year is apples and I decided to make them for our 100 day of school celebration.

They don't look like the picture but they were still cute and my class loved them!! I gave my class an option of what cupcakes they wanted for Valentines Day and they chose these!! I'm glad that I can make my class a healthy cupcakes that they love that can please every kid! Now I have said they are easy, and they are! I left my recipe at school but I remembered everything and was able to make them twice this weekend! Here it is:

1 box of moist yellow cake mix
1 cup of apple juice
1/3 cup applesauce
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 eggs

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line cupcake pan with cute liners. Mix all ingredients with a whisk until mixture is combined with few lumps. Scoop about 2 1/2 tablespoons of mixture into each cup making sure all cups are about even. Bake for about 15 minutes or until cupcakes "spring back" when touched. Let them cool on cooling racks. Then ice with with vanilla icing and decorate with sprinkles! Or you can skip the icing! They still taste delicious with out it!

 Go make them now! I guarantee that they will become your new favorite cupcakes too!! :0)

Mundane Life

I haven't updated this lately because I really don't want to bore people with the details of my mundane life. Almost every day is the same: wake up at the last possible second. get ready trying to not wake the dogs or Josh. drive 20 miles to work...most of the time behind horribly slow drivers on a 2 lane road with no chance of passing them. arrive at work. turn on the music. talk to Terri before our kids show up. get my class' seatwork written. finish getting organized for the day. pledges. prayer. Bible. phonics. bathroom. math. writing. spelling. seatwork. Lunch. recess. activity. seatwork and reading groups. science. pack up. get rid of the kids. either practice or games.go home. eat dinner. relax. tv/movie/game. Project 365. shower. go to bed. repeat.
 See mundane life, not much excitement to blog daily about. But I do have some recipes that I have made to put up someday...plus little crafty projects. There are a few things that make the days enjoyable to me. Josh. Pandora. Angry Birds. My ipod. Funny things my kids say or do. My cheerleaders. {most days} My hyper/loving pups. Netflix. Facebook. {of course} reading blogs. Which brings me to this. As I was doing my nightly routine of checking the wonderful blogs I like to read my dear friend Katie nominated me for the Stylish Blogger Award. I am new to the blogging world as a blogger but I have seen awards like this floating around so that is why I actually am posting tonight.

The Rules: Write 7 random things about yourself then tag 15 blogs that you have enjoyed reading.

1. I have to be a mood to do something. Laundry, baking, cooking, hardcore cleaning, crafting, decorating, video games...if I'm not in the right mood its not done completely. I'm not lazy just strange haha

2. I have a hard time finishing projects. I get bored easily so if I can't finish something right away I'll pick it back up in a few months or so. The same goes for games. I will play a game for a long time then I just stop and won't play it again for a while.

3. I used to swear that I would never be a teacher...but here I am. I used to want to be an astronaut or physical therapist for athletes and dad wanted me to be a forensic scientist but I hate math and science so there went those options.

4. I hated school. Thats kinda ironic that I became a teacher but I hated it. I loved the social aspect and very few of my classes {all my special education classes} but i hated all the work. I really don't want to get my Masters but I know it'll be the best for me.

5. I love taking pictures, that's probably the one thing I don't get bored of. Basic photography was one of the classes I actually enjoyed taking and loved being in the dark room. I need to take a digital photography class to help me learn my nice camera.

6. Josh and I collect movies. I'm not lying when I say we have over 500 or so DVDs including tv shows. We both had our own growing collection in college and then we got together and it kept growing! We have run out of shelving for all of them so its time to build one to go on the one wall {think The Holiday!}

7. I drive my dream car. No its nothing fast or furious or way out there. I drive a Volkswagon Beetle!! :0) I have always wanted an old one but I got lucky enough to get a newer version when I was a junior. I even got to have a personal plate which brought on a nickname because you can't have a bug without have a personalized plate!! My dad told me it had to last 6 years. {2 years of high school, 4 years of college} 8 years later Abbey is still going strong!! We've have definitely had some rough times but have made lots of memories!!!

So there you have it! 7 random things about me! So now onto the 15 blogs that I love to read. Some are people I know others are the ones that I have stumbled upon but fell in love with what they do or their stories. I am the type of person that will find a blog then take the time to read every entry from the beginning which makes me feel like I know them! If you haven't checked them out I highly recommend doing so!!

All Better...Almost

Here I am again, it's Saturday around 12, I really should be getting ready soon to leave for a basketball game but I decided to finally sit down and type up a new post. This week has a been a crazy one! I have been sick which is why I didn't write any this week, even though I wanted to. Tuesday all the area had a {no snow} snow day which was a huge blessing to me, it meant that I didn't have to take a day off! On Wednesday our boys basketball team played the #4 ranked school in our state for our division {we're number 10} and to all of our surprise we beat them! And then last night we had another game and I thought it would be close, but no, we crushed that team. It feels good to see the boys getting some wins after some crazy loses, they're starting to get it together as a team. Today we have 2 games, yes that's right TWO. They play the first at home at 2:00 then we drive to Williamsburg to play again tonight at 7:00. I'm hoping that Sean {my brother} will get a lot of playing time during either being that the boys might be tired. But who knows.

On a different but related note, I don't know about you but I LOVE Saturdays, especially lazy Saturdays where I really don't have to go out and do anything so I sleep in. I can just sit on the couch, snuggling with Bailey who is either always in my lap {like he is now} or right beside me. Sometimes Laila joins us too thinking she is a small lap dog, but most of the time she just lays on the other end or in her bed. I might do laundry if I don't forget about it. I usually have my laptop open, checking out blogs or facebook, mostly both. Something is on tv, lately its been Friday Night Lights on Netflix but other times I'm just channel surfing. Whatever I'm doing, I am relaxing. It feels nice to have one day where I'm not rushing around with a million things going on in my head. Now, not all my Saturdays are like this, which I don't mind but I need one every now and then.

Ugh, I guess its time that I go and get ready. My busy day is calling my name! If you are lucky enough to have a lazy Saturday, enjoy it! I'll get mine on Monday! ;0) {MLK Day}

A Little About My Life

So like the title says this post is going to let you know a little about my life. My name is Hillary and I am a 23 year old wife, teacher, and {puppy} mom to 2 crazy dogs! I went to a small Christian school, graduated valedictorian {just don't ask out of how many} and went off to the "World's Most Exciting University" Liberty University! I loved my 4 years there, made some amazing memories, met some great people, {Josh aka Husband} got my "ring before spring", bought a mini black and tan dachshund, named him Bailey, went to friends weddings, bought a house back home, got a teaching job back at my old school, graduated May 9, 2009 and the following week got married! I had a busy few months but a pretty slow summer, first one like that I've every had!

I started in August teaching 2nd grade and I loved my class! I also assisted my dad coaching girls volleyball then went right into coaching cheerleading. It wasn't always easy, teenage girls are quite a handful, I made mistakes but learned a lot. The school had some financial issues and I was given the challenging task of teaching not only 2nd grade but 1st as well. I'm not going to lie, it was tough, stressful and I really hated it. I did have some fun but I would never want to do that again! I thought my spring would be calm...I was wrong. I helped Josh out with coaching baseball. Let me tell you, boys are worst than girls. I'd rather deal with drama then disrespect any day! We also got a new puppy! A black lab mix we named Laila! Her and Bailey get along so well and its funny to watch the 2 of them play!

I had hands down one of the best summers ever! I went back to Camp Thunderbird and worked with the EveryBuddy group again. The EB group is our special needs group made up of some of the greatest and funniest kids around! I also had the best buddy counselor and other co-workers which helped make it so wonderful! I am now in my 2nd year of teaching 2nd grade...its much easier than the first I will say that! Coaching is going better too, even though basketball season is a lot different this year. This is also my little brother's senior year. He will be going to Longwood University in the fall. As much as we don't always get along, I love him and I am one proud big sister!

And that's where we are now. Josh and I are so blessed to both have jobs {even though we hate it at times}, a house to live in {that is slowly starting to be completely decorated, I do not have that skill!}, 2 crazy pups who we love {most of the times!} and families that love us both very much. Whew....I'm done I promise! I still have plenty left to say to check back soon! :0)

Hello World

So here I am. I have been wanting to start blogging for a while but many reasons stopped me. I'm not that good at writing. What would I even write about? Who would even read it? But then I figured to go for it. I need some place to express myself, creations and pictures. Maybe somethings will be worthwhile for others to look out. So again I say, hello world. I can't promise you that I will be the best blogger, but I want to try. I can't promise that I will always have the most interesting posts, but I'm a random person so maybe there will be enjoyment in my randomness. So hello world...look out for me! :0)
